    The 369th Infantry Regiment, originally known as the 15th New York, was founded in 1913 in the New York Army National Guard. In line with the military’s racial segregation policies, the unit was all-Black. Once the United States entered World War I, the 15th New York was called into federal service and redesignated the 369th Infantry Regiment.
