Review: Nikon D7000 for astrophotography By: Anna Morris
- https://www.eprisephoto.com/nikon-d7000.pdf
- For a “first light” for the camera, astrophotography-wise, I would have to say that the D7000 has completely changed my opinion of DSLR astrophotography. Not only does the camera produce crisp, clean images that are relatively noise-free (at least compared to my previous experience with DSLR astrophotography), but the efficient use of the

- Astro image processing programs like Deep Sky Stacker can subtract these artifacts from the final image if you take decent dark frames like this. You basically need to do this with all DSLR cameras. Admittedly, the D7000 has very good noise reduction at lower ISOs, and I have been shooting at ISO400, 500, 800 and 1000 with very good results.

Although my first astrophotos were taken with a DSLR I quickly steered clear of DSLR astrophotography for a few reasons. - D7000/D5100 for deep sky astrophotography. The Orion Nebula. with very low noise, high dynamic range and high quantum efficiency, I thought that the D7000 and the D5100 (which both use the same sensor) might be good for doing some deep sky astrophotography. The above image, the first that I have tried with my D7000, seems to bear this out.

- This lens has a cpu to meter with the D7000. It has an infinity stop for your astrophotography and you can set your hyperfocal distance for your landscape shots. This is a very sharp lens and I believe the best current wide angle prime for DX (you can use it on FX too). al_derickson, Jul 16, 2013. #1.
Nikon D5600 or Nikon D7000 or Z6/7 for astrophotography?

- Posted 22 August 2019 - 01:21 AM. D7000 has better features and ad5600 will have latest sensor. I own a D7000 and the extra buttons it has helps in photography a lot. But for only astrophotography a think D5600 will be much better. I guess it has a rotating screen also. Miguelo, David-LR and EPinNC like this.
