- The 45 f/2.8 lets you de-emphasize the background reasonably well in the last shot, making the subject stand out better. With the 20 mm the background is more cluttered. I entirely disagree. The 20mm shots are far more compelling and interesting. And it's a lot harder to do those kinds of wider-view environmental portraits well.

- Rous2. · 5y. The 50mm equivalent would be the Panasonic 25mm f1.7, which is the most common focal length for street photography. It's cheaper and focuses faster than the 20mm, and if you're like me and prefer to manual focus for street photography it has a huge manual focus ring compared to the small one on the 20mm pancake.
