- The Yashica Electro 35 was one of the most popular consumer 35mm cameras of the 1960s and 1970s. My grandparents had one. They took it all over the world on their vacations, and came back with loads of great slides. Everyone's grandparents had one. Yashica sold eight million of these in various versions over 15 years.

- Out in the world, the Electro 35 was just awesome. It's bright viewfinder with a diamond shaped patch was clearly visible both indoors and outdoors. The viewfinder doesn't supply much information other than two arrows that show the direction in which to turn the aperture ring whether an image is either over-exposed or under-exposed.

- I have an yashica electro 35 gsn that I shoot with quite frequently. It is in very good condition cosmetically and has worked flawlessly for the past 2 years or so. Last weekend, I noticed that it began to act up. Every shot, no matter the ISO or aperture selected results in the overexposure warning and fires as such (even in pitch black).
