Is the Nikon D7000 a good wildlife camera? - Quora

Typically wildlife doesn’t want you 3” from their nose, making you work from a distance. The D7000 with a 70–300mm ED IF VR lens is a good budget’ish’ pairing. Without going to 70–200, 80–400 or prime telephotos. The D7000 does lose in one main thing compared to newer models. 16MP vs 24MP in the D7100/7200.

The Nikon D7000 is a fine camera and when the 70-300 mm lens is added to it, you will be able to shoot wildlife. However, your current lens will not fit the Nikon. You will have to buy a lens that will. Here is how the sensors of the A200 and D7000 compare. http://www.dxomark.com/...and2)/Sony.

Telephoto for wildlife, Nikon D7000 | Amateur Photographer

The first is with a AF VR Zoom-Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED at 400 mm (600mm 135 equivalent). For the second, you'd probably need a macro lens but that was taken with a Fuji XF1. I think the 80-400 is excellent as a wildlife (lion type) lens. There is a new version out now that is an AF-S. Last edited: Dec 15, 2013.

D7000 settings for birds and nature - Nikon News

I shoot a lot of birds (D7000 with a Sigma 150-500 HSM lens) and generally try to keep the shutter speed at 1/1000 or faster, aperture at f/8 (when I have enough light), and use AF-C with either 9 or 21 points.I'll adjust the ISO as necessary to keep the shutter speed high enough, but I am rarely below ISO 400. I've also remapped the AE-L/AF-L to Focus so I've separated the …

Nikon D7500 Review: A Realistic Field Test for Wildlife...

The camera’s autofocus worked well in low morning light, through mist. The 8 frames per second shooting speed is awesome, too. I remember when I had a Nikon D700 and loved my 7 frames per second shooting, which was pretty high end at the time. 8 fps being stuffed inside the Nikon D7500 is an extremely attractive feature for wildlife photographers, …
