- Tom Okada is a third-generation Japanese American photographer born in 1952, New York City. Tom holds a BFA from NY Tech and an MFA in Photography from Pratt Institute. He is also a NY State Certified art teacher. Art. Photography and art is at the core of Tom’s life. He is grateful for the privilege of having learned from the best of the best.

- Exposure and lighting is the key to photography, both for film and digital images. While my still-life photographs are not portraits, I approach each still-life subject as if it were a portrait. Arnold Newman's influence is present and can be seen in my lighting.

- EGGS . This project started out as a technical challenge to photograph a white object on a white background. Using an 8x10 view camera, strobe lighting, and black and white film, I discovered that white is a relative value and can be rich with deep, dark, shadows.
