- On the contrary, I would say that prime focus is the hardest way to obtain astrophotos. For bright objects (mainly the Moon), afocal photography will give you higher magnifications and better results. And for faint objects, your mount almost certainly isn't up to the job anyway. Your only hope there is piggyback photography.
