Then when you're ready to capture the action, hold the shutter down for 6 frames or more at a time. I usually take a lot of pictures just to come up with a few good shots, but practice helps. - 7D is my primary camera for shooting sports at this point. AF works great even in dimmer light providing you have a fast enough lens (f2.8-f4). I shoot with a Sigma 120-300 f2.8 OS HSM. It works fine for me and I have shot up to 6400 ISO (1/800 f2.8) with perfectly usable results. Been shooting sports since early 1990's.
