- The second card slot has yet to be a problem. I share the concern about Sony seeming to dumb down their APC flagship cameras. I'd love to have a a9 but pending a big lottery score and and much more time in the gym I'll take the a6600 with the 100-400 as the best function for weight solution for birding and wildlife.

- The Sony A6400 and A6600 have been described by some as mini A9 cameras, inheriting many aspects of that camera’s advanced autofocus system. They also have the advantage of a crop sensor which gives you extra reach when shooting birds in flight. The A6400 in particular is also (unusually from Sony) an absolute bargain.

- While I don't have the A6600, I do have the A6400 and A7RIII and have used both for birds and birds in flight with the 200-600. The auto focus is faster on the A6400 especially if using the 1.4TC, but you can make it work with the A7RIII as well. The small EVF drives me crazy lots of times, hard to keep subject in view finder.

- The Sony Alpha A6000 is a mirrorless camera with a 24mp sensor and a maximum frame rate of 11 shots per second. These specs make it highly appealing to bird photographers. This was, and still is a hugely popular mirrorless body as it’s priced considerably lower than Sony’s top of the range mirrorless cameras, but still with a feature set that makes it …
