    Shin Takamatsu designed the Ueda Shoji Museum of Photography 植田正治写真美術館 near the town of Houki. It exhibits photography by Shoji Ueda, and opened in 1995. Ueda’s monochromatic style and love for bleak landscapes is reflected in the brutal concrete exterior. His figures often stand as monoliths above the horizon line.
