    In 1922 Renger-Patzsch became the director of the picture department of the Folkwang Archive and the Auriga Verlag. In 1923 he headed the department of Visual Propaganda in Berlin, Germany. From 1925 to 1928 Renger-Patzsch set up a studio in Bad Harzburg, Germany and worked as a freelance photographer producing documentary and press photographs.
