What are plankton? - PLANKTON.PHOTOGRAPHY

    https://plankton.photography/what-are-plankton/
The organisms in the plankton vary tremendously in size, shape and colour. Many bottom dwelling animals and fish have larval stages in the plankton with alien-like shapes and forms, looking completely different from the adult form. Radiolaria - PLANKTON.PHOTOGRAPHY

    https://plankton.photography/radiolaria/
Radiolaria are single-celled organisms (protozoa). Many species produce stunning siliceous skeletons which can sink to the bottom after the radiolaria dies, covering large parts of the ocean floor where they have been accumulating over millions of years as microfossils.

Cnidaria - PLANKTON.PHOTOGRAPHY

    https://plankton.photography/cnidaria/
Cnidaria include the familiar large scyphozan jellyfish but also many tiny species of hydrozoan jellyfish. Cnidaria have stinging cells with tiny venom-filled harpoons for defense and catching prey. Many cnidaria have a bottom-dwelling stage. Some hydrozoan species do not have a jellyfish stage but a free-floating “actinula” larva.

Dinoflagellates - PLANKTON.PHOTOGRAPHY

    https://plankton.photography/dinoflagellates/
Dinoflagellates are single-celled organisms. They get their name from the two hair-like flagella that they can use for swimming. Dinoflagellates can be photosynthetic but many species get part or all of their energy from ingesting other organisms or detritus, like the exceptionally large sea sparkle Noctiluca scintillans.
