    https://nikonmag.com/talk/dx/how-do-i-take-a-picture-of-the-moon-with-my-nikon-d5000.html
Prop it up with rocks on the hood of a car or whatever; you can't shoot the moon at night handheld. Try an exposure time of 1 second at 400 ISO,. Adjust from there… If 1 second is overexposed, go down to 1/2 second. If 1 second is underexposed, go up to 2 seconds or 4 seconds. Leave the aperture setting on automatic. Dirk Phoenix

1/ISO @ f/16 or some reciprocal setting. I would use 1/500th second at between f/8 and f/11 at ISO 200 as a starting point. Of course you will have to use the manual settings to do this I'm sure had you thought about it a little longer you would have remembered that the same sun shines on the earth as the moon, so the same exposures apply. As the eclipse begins, place the moon’s image in one corner of the camera’s viewfinder. Make sure that you compose the image so that the moon will move across the camera’s field of view during the exposure. Turn Autofocus OFF and focus manually on infinity. Also, turn ON the camera’s Long Exposure Noise Reduction feature.

Go to manual mode and open the aperture. The 55-200mm lens has a max aperture of f4, I believe, and that isn't great for night photography. A 50mm f1.8, f1.4, or faster would be best. Depending on the amount of light available in your area, you will have to play with the ISO and the exposure time.

How to Photograph the Moon with Nikon D3500 [9 Steps]

    https://midnightphotographer.com/photograph-moon-nikon-d3500/
To capture a good amount of detail in the moon and not have to crop most of the photo out, you need at least a 480mm lens. Because the Nikon D3500 is not a full-frame camera, we can reduce this to around 300mm. You should generally use Nikon lenses with Nikon camera’s but even doing that, there are some limitations on certain lenses.
