    Another common way of photographing the ISS is to connect the camera to a telescope and capture it passing in front of the Sun or Moon. There are applications which can predict these passes for those so inclined. The result is an image of the Sun or Moon appearing as normal, but with a tiny shadow of the ISS somewhere on the image.
