    Philip Henry Delamotte (1821 - 1889)was a British photographer and illustrator, best known for his photographic images of The Crystal Palace in London. Delamotte was commissioned to record the dis-assembly of the Crystal Palace in 1852, and its reconstruction and expansion at Sydenham in London, a project finished in 1854.

    Philip Henry Delamotte was a British photographer and illustrator. A calotypist, Delamotte was one of the earliest photographers to use the medium for documentary purposes. Especially noted for his series on the Crystal Palace, he also did landscapes and some stereographs. In his later work he adopted the waxed paper negative and collodion processes.
