Olympus SP-550UZ Review. Mar 26, 2007. Mar 30, 2017 at 10:00. In 2004 Nikon launched its first sub-$1000 DSLR, the Nikon D70. The D70 shared many components with its older and more expensive sibling D100 and offered more manual control and customizability than its direct rival from Canon, the EOS 300D (Digital Rebel). My Nikon D2Xs represents what was Nikon’s high-end back in 2006. The D70 represents Nikon’s advanced amateur model from 2004. It sold for $999 (body only) and included a 6 MP CCD sensor (1.5x crop), ISO 200 – 1600 sensitivity, five selectable autofocus points, 3 fps continuous shooting, 1/8000 max shutter speed, a single CF card, and a 1.8″ display screen.

Nikon D70 Digital SLRs user reviews : 4 out of 5 - 46 reviews ...

Others use the 6.1mp sensor, but Nikon's version with their programming gives the best results. Frankly, the D70 is overall one of the best DSLRs ever. The Anti-Aliasing filter on this body isn't as strong as on others, so although you may get the occasional Moire, …

This is a superior camera even though it cost several times less than some competitors. The D70 was announced at the end of 2003 and more formally on January 28th, 2004. I especially love the ease-of-use and pro-caliber 1/500 flash sync! List price is $999 for body, and $1,299 with an excellent 18-70mm lens.

Ease of Use. Photographers who own or have at least handled a Nikon D80 will instantly feel at home with the D90, as the new camera has the exact same dimensions and almost the same shape as its predecessor. D70 owners who gave the D80 a pass will, however, likely notice that the right-hand grip of these cameras is actually somewhat less ...
