I have also shot youth football for a while and getting successful shots at night really depends on your equipment. The newer the camera body, the better the noise reduction is at higher ISO settings. Dec 02, 2007 11:58 | #1 I have a Cannon Rebel, and need some advice about shooting football games at night which I will begin next season. There is a natural tendency to shoot a football game primarily from “your” team’s side of the field. If you’re a parent, this is where you know people and feel comfortable. But try going around to the other side of the field once in a while. That way, you can capture the action with your team’s colors and sidelines in the background. 8.

Photographing American High School Football

Football should be shot with a reasonably fast shutter speed of at least 1/500th of a second, however 1/800th is better. Remember, the longer the lens, the faster your shutter speed should be to help eliminate lens shake.

My Camera Settings For Shooting Football - Scott Kelby

Hi Gang: I get asked this question enough that I thought I’d do a quick blog post on it. Shutter Speed: 1/1000 of a second or faster Note: For late afternoon or night games, …
