- Hey, I hope you're enjoying astrophotography so far. You don't need to do the full spectrum mod on your 450D camera, you can just remove the LPF2 filter and it will make a nice Ha modified camera. The only things that you need to keep an eye on are the proper sensor re-positioning and making sure it is absolutely free of dust.

- I've only used 600D mod, but I read somewhere that current canon aps dslrs have PDAF that might cause banding or something. So 700D is probably the best bet for now. I agree about the FF. AFAIK the recent Canon APS-C (since 70D) have DPAF (dual pixel), which is different from PDAF (phase detection) - not to be confused.
