Couple of Mamiya C220f questions | Photo.net Photography Forums

    https://www.photo.net/discuss/threads/couple-of-mamiya-c220f-questions.5517214/
#1 stephen_poe Ok, part of the problem solved. Turns out (from the copy of the owners handbook I found) that the standard lens in the flip-up magnifier is a -1.5 diopter. So that can be solved since there are a couple of sources for flip-up magnifier lenses. Still working on the loose focusing. Thanks stephen_poe, Oct 5, 2019 #2 orsetto

Hi all, I decided that I needed more medium format in my life. I have a lovely RB67 kit which is wonderful but I wanted something a little more portable. It's not just the weight of the RB67, but the bulk as well. I've played with a few folders, which I …

Ther aren't, AFAIK, any non Mamiya-Sekor lenses available. The 105mm is ideal as a portrait lens although I find the 135mm perfect for my tastes. As for attaching filters, several of the Sekors require that you unscrew the silver ring on the front of the taking lens to expose the filter threads. Enjoy your C220; they're part of a fantastic (IMO ...

About the Mamiya TLR System This is a Twin Lens Reflex (TLR) camera that takes 120 roll film, and, typically for this format, it shoots 12 exposures per roll (24 on 220 roll film if you can find it anywhere!) The “System” bit comes from the fact that you can change the stock 80mm lens for others in the range – 45mm all the way up to 250mm.

In any case, to allow the photographer to make these corrections, the C220 has a scale on the side of the camera; it’s one of two scales shown in this photo: The first scale is a black and white one at the bottom called the Exposure Scale. …

Why I love Twin Lens Reflex cameras: A quick Mamiya C220

First, it was for full-frame cameras, and then it was for the bigger file size and at last – SHARPNESS AT THE WIDEST APERTURE. I didn’t stop and money kept pouring out of my pockets. I did a lot of photography in those years. I wish that my photos were good as my talent as I switched to better gear every 6 months.

The lens axis separation on the Mamiya C series is 50mm. You only need parallax correction when 50mm becomes a significant fraction of the framed size at the subject. For conventional portraits it is going to be negligible. The same applies for exposure compensation.
