    Steven Sasson, an engineer at Eastman Kodak built the first recorded digital camera in 1975 using the CCD from Fairchild Semiconductor. It was a working prototype of a camera, not a commercial variant. It had 4kg, it could capture image of 100 x 100 pixels and needed 23 seconds to make an image and record it on tape.
