    This is my preferred method for small groups of 3-8 people. Set your first light to one side of your camera, between 0 and 45 degrees from your subject. This is your main light source for the image. Position the second light on-axis with your camera. It’s going to act as a fill light, filling in the shadows where your main light doesn’t reach.
