Astrophotography using HDR? - Imaging - Stargazers Lounge

- I very often shoot two different exposures for e.g. Moon and stars but I just compositit manually in Photoshop. The differences in exposure are far away from 1-2 stop HDR difference. Like 1/800 f/8 for the moon vs. 30sec f/4 for the stars. For deep sky images I tend to process as an HDR using layers/masks again in Photoshop.

- Imaging Venus at dangerously close distance from the sun. When Venus goes between the Earth and the sun, it appears as a delicate ring of light. In order to observe the rare “annular phase” of Venus at inferior solar conjunction, when it is located dangerously close to the sun, I implemented a dedicated setup.
