- You might still be able to use a 2000 watt generator. If you are shooting in spurts, it did occur to me you could use a 2000 watt generator even though it is rated for 1800 watts. The generator would surge to 2000 watts while you are taking your photos, but I am assuming your shooting would only last a few minutes.

- Just as a long term recommendation, If you were going to do a lot of shooting under the conditions described then I would go with a generator w/surge protection and a vagabond CU300, This will provide the most protection for your strobes and you can shoot without the generator until you absolutely need it,then run it through the vagabonds.
