The ship was loaded with munitions including small grains of smokeless propellant called cordite. Most of the munitions were left to sink in the hold of the ship.

- In 2019, I travelled to Alang, India to search for a single object from the roll-on, roll-off container ship Atlantic Conveyor.The ship crossed the harsh North Atlantic serving ports including Rotterdam, Liverpool, Baltimore and Halifax (where I grew up) for over 30 years before being decommissioned and sent to the infamous shipbreaking beaches of Alang in 2017.
