But given how quickly digital bodies / backs depreciate in the REAL world, has anybody tried placing them in Class 45, which has a much higher rate? Anybody aware of Canada Revenue Agency rulings, or tax bulletins on this issue?

According to CRA website: "If this equipment costs $1,000 or more, you can elect to have it included in a separate class. The CCA rate will not change but a separate CCA deduction can now be calculated for a five-year period."

- I think Class 8 (miscellaneous) for a 20% deduction each year would be best fit for digital photography equipment if they exceed $200. If they're less than $200, throw them into Class 12 for a 100% deduction in the given year. I think the Class 12 $200 threshold is proposed to be changed to $500, although nothing yet has been passed into law.
