- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2013 Verified Purchase This is my favorite photo printing paper. It looks great and feels great and the very heavy weight makes a nice impression when holding the photo. If you've got a high quality printer (I use an Epson 3880) and you take care to use the proper ICC profiles you will love the result.

- If your photos really pop you might prefer the Baryta for maximum contrast. Landscapes and portraits look especially nice on Platine, and it has great surface texture. For a luster paper, consider MOAB Lasal Exhibition Luster 300. Everybody to whom I showed comparison prints picked it over the Epson equivalent.

- After reading many reviews I am still confused about the Canson Infinity Baryte Photographique paper using matte or photo ink. My printer is an Epson 3880. You can print with any paper using matte black, but I don't think you would be satisfied with the results. Apart from anything else, the gloss differential would be horrendous.

- If you like that baryta look, then you might want to consider the Canson Platine. It has a similar look to their baryta but has a much tougher surface and is less prone to inadvertent printer and handling marks - something all baryta papers suffer from due to the softness of the barium sulfate used as the primary whitening agent.

- Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique complies with the ISO 9706 standard for maximum longevity while providing the aesthetic and look of the original darkroom baryta print. The Baryta Photographique has a satin finish that is smooth to the touch, while being ideal for black and white photos due to its great image sharpness and black density.

- Canson Infinity has added a wonderful option with Baryta Photographique II. If your work tends towards the more dramatic and contrasty, it may be a good first fiber-based paper, especially because it will be closer in rendering to the resin-coated paper you’ve been using than any other fiber paper.
Canson Platine vs Baryta vs Rag Photographique - Digital …
- https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/55378229
- Looking at a reproduction all you can really say is that the blacks on the Canson Rag are warmer and the overall "punch" is slightly less. I would also say the profile for the Rag is slightly less accurate as you can see in the skies and skin tones. That is a pretty big negative since the Canson Platine and Baryta profiles are outstanding.
