- I started with a 10D so yes a 30D will work but will only produce "OK" results. It's an old camera model with an old sensor that will have more noise than more modern sensors. This means you will need to stack more images to remove the noise which in turn means more imaging time and imaging time is precious. Live View is super useful for focusing.
