- Native Nebraskan Bill Frakes is a visual storyteller working in both still photography and video. He started his photography career at the Miami Herald where he worked from 1979 to 1992, covering a wide range of subjects from local stories to politics in Cuba. He began freelancing for Sports Illustrated in 1983, in 1992 he joined the masthead of the magazine.
