- I'm posting this because of the apparent lack of understanding that HDR does in fact have a professional purpose. A photo that uses HDR does not make it a “shitty HDR”. HDR means High Dynamic Range. Now, the human eye sees in about 28 stops of light. Your average photo taken with a DSLR sees in anywhere from 10 to 14 stops in RAW.
