- Posted 02 January 2009 - 04:27 PM. The D700 has the highest sensitivity per area of any DSLR and very good read noise levels at high ISO settings. It would be the best astrophotography DSLR except for a few issues (two of which could be fixed in firmware if Nikon had the gumption). The worst problem is probably long exposure noise reduction.
