- Use the ruler tool to measure the object. Divide that by the resolution of the image (I always have to check in the Image menu, Image size dialog box). Divide the pixels of the object by the resolution and you'll have the size in inches. IE: Object measures 85.4 pixels. My 10D reports as 240 pixels/inch. That works out to be .36 inches (or 3/8").
