    Why acrylic? There are paints and dyes and inks out there that are made specifically for this purpose. Brushes, liquids, pens, markers, tapes, etc. But... If you're doing this on any variation of image that comes from an ink jet printer, I wouldn't do it. The ink from an inkjet is water soluble and the carrier for acrylic is water.
