- In my opinion, the 5D II is the BEST Canon low light camera by far. If it isn't good for low light, no Canon camera is. I have to agree with this statement. Best low light camera I have ever used. Not only low light focusing, but low light shooting in general with such a high low noise ISO.

I had my 1D MK III and my 5D MK II with two of us taking images from each side of the stage. The 5D2 won out in the extreme low light by a large margin.

- This shot in low light with a kit lens at f/5.6 would not even have been possible. Even with the ISO cranked to 12,800 at f/5.6 the shutter speed would be 1/5th of a second. WAY too slow for hand holding and a moving subject. If you have the f1/8 version of the 50mm lens your shutter speed would still be okay at 1/50th.
