    In reply to apaflo • Mar 28, 2013. 300mm is perfect fine for portraits. I'm partial to my 70-200 VRII and 85mm lenses, but the 300mm F4 or 2.8 are also quite good. If someone has a rule saying 300mm is not good for portraits, then that's fine for them, but I could care less.
