24-105 vs 24-70 at wedding - Digital Photography Review
- https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/32200317
- I know most of photographers use 24-70 f2.8 for wedding, portraits, events, etc. For my own experience, I currently own 24-105 and do most of job as main lens, usually shoot at f5.6. I also use 50 f1.4 in low light indoor and portrait. I think the 24-105 offers a better range and has IS, less heavy but it has distorsion and f4 is down side.

- 24-105 or 28-75 F2.8 ? For weddings where you can have the combination of lower light and moving people the faster F number is probably more useful. Though you already have a selection of faster yet primes. For outdoor , better lit or flash photography the wider focal range will be more useful , really you cannot go wrong .

- The 5D and 24-105 combo is great for weddings. A fast prime or two will serve you well as backup. But I think if you don't already have the 5D, that you could consider shooting a 30D and the forthcoming 17-55/2.8IS. If these were available at the time that I got the 24-105 or 5D, I probably would have gone that way instead. grant g, Apr 23, 2006 #1
