If price is not a concern, the subtle difference is that the Milvus 50/1.4 might be more suitable to FF while the Sigma Art is better for APS-C, for astrophotography. For 135mm, again the Zeiss 135/2 APO Sonnar is the best. The Samyang one is very close and is much cheaper, but may suffer from sample variance.

The Samyang/Rokinon 135mm f/2 has even better bang-for-the-buck for AP at less than half the cost of the Sigma, although if you get a poor copy it might need to be stopped down to f/2.8. The only reason to consider a vintage 135mm f/1.8 lens is if you can get one of the better versions for a bargain. Say, a couple hundred dollars at most.

At f/2.0 very little movement is required at the last stage of focusing to get pinpoint stars, especially when you use modern CMOS small pixel camera. This simple lever makes this process easier. Some of these printed elements are available in the store, so you can also equip your Samyang 135 to astrophotography.

I have a Tamron 2.8 L 70-200 , but I have to shoot at 5.6 to not get any coma. One option if you don't mind using manual focus, legacy glass is the Pentax M42-mount 135mm, f/2.5 lens. This lens can be somewhat difficult to find, but it can be gotten on the used market for under $200 including shipping.

Deep Sky West (Lloyd) # 10/1/2016. Hi Bill...this is a randomly selected single 5 minute, unguided, luminance exposure with a QSI583 at -15C + Rokinon 135mm operating "somehwere between" f/2 and f/2.8. Image scale is ~8" / pixel. The data respond well to drizzle integration. Off axis performance is quite good.
